This Privacy Policy describes how GetPortfolio(“we”, “us”) handles personal data when you use getportfolio.cloudand our services (the “Service”). It applies to visitors, registered users, and anyone whose data we process. For the technical and security side of storage, see How we store your data.
1. Who is responsible for your data
GetPortfolio is the data controller for the personal information described here. You can reach us about privacy at support@getportfolio.cloud.
2. Data we collect
- Account data — your email address and authentication credentials, used to create and secure your account.
- Profile and portfolio content — the information you choose to add, such as your name, biography, work experience, education, skills, projects, links, and images. Much of this is published publicly on your portfolio by design.
- Usage and analytics data — aggregate view counts and interaction events for your portfolio, plus basic technical data (such as device and browser type and approximate region) needed to operate and protect the Service.
- Communications — messages you send us for support or inquiries.
3. How we use your data
- to provide, maintain, and improve the Service and your public portfolio;
- to authenticate you and keep your account secure;
- to provide analytics about your portfolio’s performance;
- to communicate with you about your account, support requests, and service updates;
- to detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, and security issues; and
- to comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal bases
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we process your data on the basis of performing our contract with you (providing the Service), our legitimate interests (securing and improving the Service), your consent (for example, non-essential cookies), and compliance with legal obligations.
5. Sharing your data
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf (such as hosting, database, and infrastructure providers) under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection terms, and where required by law or to protect rights and safety. Your published portfolio content is, by nature, visible to anyone who visits it.
6. Public portfolios and indexing
When your portfolio is set to public, its content can be viewed by anyone and — if you allow indexing — discovered through search engines. You control visibility and indexing from your dashboard settings. Please avoid publishing information you do not want to be public.
7. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete content or your account, we remove the associated personal data from our production systems, subject to the timelines and backup practices described in How we store your data, and except where we must retain it to meet legal obligations.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can edit or delete most of your data directly from your dashboard, or contact us at support@getportfolio.cloud. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for those transfers.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
